3 Myths About Specializing

Written on June 24, 2013 at 11:57 am

by Nikki Buckelew

We all know that when you narrow your focus you increase your results. So why is it that so many agents resist specialization?

Myth #1:  I will lose other opportunities.

Reality: When you create a specialty, you elevate yourself and increase your overall credibility. Just as cardiac surgeons are still looked upon as capable general physicians, they are also seen as superior in their field. People understand that not only could they do a heart bypass, they can also put 4 stitches in your kid’s knee.

Not only will the people in your sphere see you in …

by Coach Art and Anna Kleimer

Are You a Leader or Manager?

If you are a leader you will prosper.  If you are a manager, learn to become a leader or start sending out your resume to old world thinking companies.

What distinguishes Leaders from Managers?

Leaders coach, motivate, and inspire others to grow to take over the leaders functions so the leader can go to the next level.

10 Leader To Do’s

1. Be a life long learner.  Great leaders are always learning usually using coaches to enhance learning. There are two sides to every box, the inside and …

Reflecting and Projecting

Written on December 2, 2012 at 11:44 am

Today is one of those days that I find myself attempting to live in the moment, but instead making my way into the past as well as the future.

Going with the flow.

That has been my mantra for a while now.

Definition: Paying attention to the synchronicity in my life and doing what comes easy in the moment. Going with the flow.

At this particular moment the flow is taking me toward reflecting and projecting.

Not to be confused with planning and goal setting.

This is more like “visioneering” as Danielle LaPorte calls it. I intellectually know that …

Change Your Posture to Change Your Outcome

“Don't fake it till you make it. Fake it till you become it.” - Amy Cuddy

I watched a TED Talk today given by Amy Cuddy, a social psychologist, professor and researcher at the Harvard Business School. She said exactly what I have instinctually known for a long time. "Our bodies change our minds."

Non-verbal cues (i.e. Body Language) is something we are all aware of and we use it each and every day to help us communicate with others and make decisions. But how many of us are aware from minute to minute that our own body language …

Written on November 28, 2012 at 8:36 am

As human beings, we are naturally fueled by our passions, dreams, goals, and expectations. So why not talk to people in your life about what jazzes them up? My guess is that they would love to hear about what jazzes you up too, both personally and professionally.

So talk about it.

I am talking about getting out of sales mode for a bit and just being real with people. Working from the inside out. Let go of the outcome. Just care about people. Let your SoulFire burn hot!

People often ask me how we built our real estate business to …

In previous blogs, we have talked about building a Personal Platform and a Professional Platform as two key and high priority elements in the overall platform creation for REALTORS®.

As promised, this post is dedicated to Public Platform creation, but before we get too far into the conversation, I must share something …

Building a Professional Platform in Your Real Estate Sales Practice

Written on November 9, 2012 at 3:19 pm

One of the most powerful and valuable assets overlooked by REALTORS® is that of the business to business relationship (B to B).

Not only are B to B relationships key in fulfilling the client service role, but it is also critical in developing reciprocal opportunities for longterm marketing, lead generation, and sales.

In our real estate coaching programs, we often find that agents have focused largely on their Personal Platform, but have left out the Professional Platform component. And when they have begun building a B to B network, they have centered their efforts around professionals closely tied to the …
