I've pretty much decided that the fate of humankind rests solely on the timely dissemination of wisdom and quotes via the memes and images we all see daily on Facebook, Instagram, and across the Internet.

While that statement is somewhat tongue-in-cheek, there are many worthy concepts that are so easily summed up in just a few words and therefore the perfect length for just such an image.

So, you say you'd like to improve things in your life, either personally, professionally, or both?

What would happen if you simply focused on developing a plan (and following it)

My Mind, My Enemy?

Written on May 17, 2014 at 10:41 am

Yak yak yak yak yak.

And yak yak yak, some more.

I don't know about you, but my mind very rarely shuts up. And, realistically, I bet yours doesn't either.

This constant barrage of “static of the mind” is part of the human condition and something that – since it's been with each of us since we were toddlers – we simply have grown accustomed to and completely accept.

I'm here to suggest that such acceptance of the barrage of white noise in your head is not a good thing at all.

As a real estate coach, …

St Louis’ Rob Shanks: The Face of a SoulFire Real Estate Agent

Written on January 31, 2014 at 11:37 am

by Nikki Buckelew

Back in September of 2013 I wrote a blog post called "Don't Let Illusion Defeat You: Think SoulFire."

It spoke of how each of our lives is loaded with illusion and explained that when I write about SoulFire, when I discuss SoulFire agents, when I coach on how to live a SoulFire life, what I’m talking about is the ability to cut through the illusion and lies - namely the falsehoods that each of us believe about ourselves.

Rob Shanks is a NikkiandChris.com coaching client who has latched onto the SoulFire approach to life and a real …

Do You Feel Like a Square Peg Trying to Fit Into a Round Hole?

Written on May 29, 2013 at 12:37 pm

by Nikki Buckelew

This weekend I was sitting with my one year-old granddaughter as she played with her toys. We have one in particular that she finds quite frustrating - it’s the one that requires you to match the correct shape with the corresponding hole in the box in order to push it through.

I love the toy myself because I know after she has tried the star block in every hole she eventually finds the star shaped hole and pushes it through. Of course we do this over and over again before she finally realizes that the square blocks …

I Dare You to Be Different

Written on May 20, 2013 at 5:46 pm

Are you wearing a badge of honor that says “I’m so busy that I can’t even stop to eat or pee?”

You may laugh, but if I had a quarter for every time a Realtor said some variation of that phrase outloud, I could retire comfortably. Something happens when people get into real estate. It is as if people adopt the idea that running mach 3 with their hair on fire is a good thing - like it’s required...or somehow expected.

We did it too. Chris and I both bought into the idea that busy meant successful - that …

Real Estate Sales and the Law of Least Effort

Written on May 19, 2013 at 5:00 pm

If you have ever read or listened to Deepak Chopra’s Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, you have probably heard of the fourth law, The Law of Least Effort.

This law says that nature’s intelligence functions with effortless ease and carefree abandonment. It’s a lesson that nature has tried to teach us, but many of us just ignore it as if we are the exception to all nature.

As Deepak Chopra says in his audio series,

“Grass doesn’t try to grow... it just grows.”

“Birds don’t try to fly...they just fly.”

“Fish don’t try to swim...they just swim.”

“It is the …

Are You Still Trying to Please People Who Can’t Be Pleased?

Written on April 26, 2013 at 8:31 am

Do you call yourself a “people pleaser?” Is there always that little voice inside your head saying, “I wonder what other people will think of this idea?” Are you consistently disappointed in the reactions of certain others in your life who never seem to recognize your contributions?

Well, if this is true, quoting Bob Newhart, I say, “STOP IT!”

As long as you continue to do what you do to please others, you are destined to a life of failure, disappointment, heartache and hurt. Period.

How do I know? I have been there and lived in that world too.

From …

Spreading SoulFire

Written on March 4, 2013 at 9:52 am

Just a short and sweet note of appreciation today. It's been so amazing to watch the SoulFire Series spread across the nation. Last month we were in Pensacola, FL and San Antonio, TX and this month in St Louis, MO - sharing SoulFire. People are calling me regularly asking about SoulFire coaching and training events.

What I am beginning to realize is that people need it. We all need it. We need to know that life is full of all the things we want and are searching for - fun, love, adventure, security, abundance, health, and freedom. It's right there …
