Surviving BOLD: Nikki’s Personal Laws for Creating a Life by Design

Written on June 10, 2015 at 11:15 am

When people find out that I was formerly a MAPS BOLD Coach for Keller Williams Realty, they often ask me, “Should I take BOLD?”
(In case you aren't sure, BOLD is a coaching program written by Dianna Kokoszka, President of MAPS Coaching with Keller Williams Realty.)
Others have asked similar questions like:
Is BOLD worth the investment of time and money?
What do I need to know about BOLD so I don’t foul out?

I can't answer the question as to whether it's worth the time and money for you or not. It was for me. Only you can …

Guard Your Real Estate Reputation: Learning from the Brian Williams Scandal

Written on February 9, 2015 at 8:02 am

Brian Williams scandal.

by Nikki Buckelew

The real estate agents who have been drawn to working with Chris and I as real estate coaches typically are a different breed of agent or broker. They've noticed our real estate coaching approach is quite different than the traditional model. As a result, we tend to attract clients who are most interested in not only improving their real estate business, but also improving their entire life holistically. It all goes together.

As such, we typically get the honor of working almost exclusively with agents who hold themselves to high standards as it concerns professional integrity, honesty, …

I Dare You to Be Different

Written on May 20, 2013 at 5:46 pm

Are you wearing a badge of honor that says “I’m so busy that I can’t even stop to eat or pee?”

You may laugh, but if I had a quarter for every time a Realtor said some variation of that phrase outloud, I could retire comfortably. Something happens when people get into real estate. It is as if people adopt the idea that running mach 3 with their hair on fire is a good thing - like it’s required...or somehow expected.

We did it too. Chris and I both bought into the idea that busy meant successful - that …

Simple System for Getting Meaningful Testimonials

Written on March 16, 2013 at 1:42 pm

It is so much better for people to hear from a third party how great you are instead of you trying to toot your own horn!

To get meaningful testimonials from your clients, stop asking for testimonials and start asking for feedback! Here’s exactly what you need to do, step by step.

Step 1. Ask clients for feedback.

  • After closing, verbally ask your client and any other parties to the transaction if they’d be willing to give you feedback on working with you.
  • Get a photo of the client at closing or during the sales process.

Loving Your Listings

Written on February 14, 2013 at 10:16 am

I was asked to give a talk this week for one of the top real estate brokerages in Pensacola, Florida. Chris and I have known Audie Street, the manager at Mainstreet Properties for several years. He is one of those people you just can’t help but like. Audie is upbeat, energetic, positive, and thrives on helping his agents succeed. When he asked me to speak to his group on Valentines Day and said they wanted to title the talk, Loving Your Listings, of course I said, “Perfect.”

As I worked on the outline for my talk, I realized that …

How Facebook’s Lack of Privacy Can Help You Find Buyers and Sellers

Written on February 6, 2013 at 9:24 am

by Mark Bingaman, NikkiandChris.com affiliate coach specializing in social media

As a former radio manager and magazine editor in two previous lives, it pains me a bit to share a secret with you, but here goes: while traditional media like broadcast and print can be useful advertising mechanisms, they are inherently flawed. Why? Because of their inability to intuitively ascertain the probability of whether or not an individual may be interested in your service or property.

If you're a real estate agent or broker looking to use old-school advertising to procure new listings or help sell homes, there …

My Facebook Dilemma – 5 Things I Have Learned

Written on January 16, 2013 at 2:41 pm

Having nearly 5000 friends on Facebook is crazy.

And to think that all 4853 people were actually “friends” is delusional at best.

Back when Facebook first came on the scene, it was so cool to have someone request to be my “friend.” Maybe it is my high “I” behavior style that loved the idea of someone wanting to connect with me. Then my high “D” behavioral characteristic and my competitive nature kicked into overdrive in an attempt to have more friends faster.

Being on the road teaching to large audiences across the country for a couple of years certainly helped …

SoulFire Goal Setting with NikkiandChris.com

We wanted to give you a concise overview of what we spoke about on our free teleconference call on Friday, January 4th called “Goal Setting with a SoulFire Spark.” This call was the first in a series of calls committed to helping you live a SoulFire life!

Let's face it!

This time of the year, everyone is all rah-rah, but it doesn't seem to take long for that same enthusiasm to dampen a bit. Is it possible to retain that spark by adding some SoulFire? Yes, we say, yes it is!

That's because SoulFire is about so …
