2 Paths to Real Estate Sales Success

Written on August 17, 2011 at 4:25 pm

In coaching REALTORS across the country, I am finding that a common question arises when someone is either new to the business or is redefining what they would like their business to look like. Maybe they are a few years into the field and have experienced the ups and downs in their income or they are realizing that there is a lot more to the business than at first meets the eye!

There are two ways to be in real estate as a sales person and be successful as I see it:

Option #1. Approach it as a business. You …

Change you thoughts…Change your age!

How old would you be if you didn't know how old you were? ~Satchel Paige

Age is an issue of mind over matter.  If you don't mind, it doesn't matter. ~Mark Twain

“Age is a state of mind.”
“You are only as old as you feel.”
“With age comes wisdom.”

So how old is “old?” That is the big question. If you are only as old as you feel, then how can you be any older than you are today? You have never been older so you can’t possibly know what being older “feels” like.

How old is OLD?

Written on May 26, 2011 at 11:00 am

If you ask around, most people will probably say something like, “age is a state of mind,” or “you are only as old as you feel.”

Well, I say that is horse manure! Those are the politically correct answers when in fact if you pushed people to give you a number they would ... and every person’s number would be different based on his or her respective life experiences.

Age with Attitude!

Written on May 24, 2011 at 2:11 pm

Based on this definition, the way you think and/or feel about age and the process of aging shows up in your behavior.

Ever heard the expression, “Act your age!” Of course you have … the question is how does one act their age?

You may also have heard the expression, “One is only as old as one feels.” …

Starving Children in Ethiopia

Written on May 16, 2011 at 11:00 am

I am in a coaching group where we are exploring our beliefs. In doing so, we are asked to journal about things we believe and whether or not that belief still serves our best interest or if it is outdated and no longer serving our intentions for our life.

A particular belief that I decided this morning that I have had way too long is this one: "I have to eat everything on my plate because there are starving children in Ethiopia (or wherever)!"

Who knew that this was such an ingrained thought and belief in my life? As a …

Embrace the “Funk”

Written on May 15, 2011 at 9:39 am

I was just thinking the other day about how it feels to be in what I call a “funk.” Sometimes I have a day, or even two to three days, where my energy is low, if feel down in the dumps, or I just don’t feel “right.” Because I am normally such a high energy and productive person, these days can be particularly frustrating for me.

When I am “in it” I start questioning myself...
“What is wrong with me?”
“Am I depressed?”
“Am I coming down with something?”

Then I go through this period where I get a little …
