Surviving BOLD: Nikki’s Personal Laws for Creating a Life by Design

Written on June 10, 2015 at 11:15 am

When people find out that I was formerly a MAPS BOLD Coach for Keller Williams Realty, they often ask me, “Should I take BOLD?”
(In case you aren't sure, BOLD is a coaching program written by Dianna Kokoszka, President of MAPS Coaching with Keller Williams Realty.)
Others have asked similar questions like:
Is BOLD worth the investment of time and money?
What do I need to know about BOLD so I don’t foul out?

I can't answer the question as to whether it's worth the time and money for you or not. It was for me. Only you can …

How Cheating Works: Building a Great Life as a Real Estate Agent

real estate coaches/consultants

by Nikki Buckelew

I've pretty much decided that the fate of humankind rests solely on the timely dissemination of wisdom and quotes via the memes and images we all see daily on Facebook, Instagram, and across the Internet.

While that statement is somewhat tongue-in-cheek, there are many worthy concepts that are so easily summed up in just a few words and therefore the perfect length for just such an image.

So, you say you'd like to improve things in your life, either personally, professionally, or both?

What would happen if you simply focused on developing a plan (and following it)

The Beauty of a Soulful, Real Estate Rebellion

Do you have a little rebel in ya? What about a Rebel Yell aching to scream forth?

It's funny how similar thoughts and philosophies can jump out at you in surprising succession. Last night, I read a portion of Kahlil Gibran's book “Spirits Rebellious” in which a character beseeches a village of peasants to rebel against the tyrants who have forced them into serfdom.

Then – only about 12 hours later – I received a weekly email newsletter from business relationship and Internet marketing guru Chris Brogan with the title “How Do …

St Louis’ Rob Shanks: The Face of a SoulFire Real Estate Agent

Written on January 31, 2014 at 11:37 am

by Nikki Buckelew

Back in September of 2013 I wrote a blog post called "Don't Let Illusion Defeat You: Think SoulFire."

It spoke of how each of our lives is loaded with illusion and explained that when I write about SoulFire, when I discuss SoulFire agents, when I coach on how to live a SoulFire life, what I’m talking about is the ability to cut through the illusion and lies - namely the falsehoods that each of us believe about ourselves.

Rob Shanks is a NikkiandChris.com coaching client who has latched onto the SoulFire approach to life and a real …

Don’t Let Illusion Defeat You: Think SoulFire

Written on September 11, 2013 at 5:09 pm

The picture posted below is what inspired me to write on the topic of illusion.

I mean, look at that! It's an illusion of the highest order. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines illusion as “the state or fact of being intellectually deceived or misled.”

When I write about SoulFire, when I discuss SoulFire agents, when I coach on how to live a SoulFire life, what I'm talking about is the ability to cut through the illusion.

Your life is loaded with illusion and, in fact, much of what we perceive daily is just that. Each of us goes through …

Learning About Life and Real Estate from Taylor Swift and “The Voice.”

Written on June 10, 2013 at 1:41 pm

by Nikki Buckelew

I don't typically watch “The Voice” on NBC, the singing talent show that's all the rage. And I haven't spent a ton of time – until now - dissecting how the success of Taylor Swift can translate into success in real estate and life.

But a friend and colleague of mine - Mark Bingaman - recently brought up a couple of points concerning those two entertainment giants that made some sense.

On a recent episode of “The Voice,” one of the show's judges (and country superstar) Blake Shelton marveled at the talent of a 16 year-old contestant …

Do You Feel Like a Square Peg Trying to Fit Into a Round Hole?

Written on May 29, 2013 at 12:37 pm

by Nikki Buckelew

This weekend I was sitting with my one year-old granddaughter as she played with her toys. We have one in particular that she finds quite frustrating - it’s the one that requires you to match the correct shape with the corresponding hole in the box in order to push it through.

I love the toy myself because I know after she has tried the star block in every hole she eventually finds the star shaped hole and pushes it through. Of course we do this over and over again before she finally realizes that the square blocks …

Hiring Help – Expense or Investment?

Written on April 8, 2013 at 7:10 am

People frequently call for real estate coaching or are involved in coaching groups I belong to or lead and when the topic turns to investing money or time into their “business” - especially money - they get audibly or visibly uncomfortable and edgy. I often hear comments like, “but that would cut into my commissions/income,” or “it’s too expensive to hire someone to _____.”

First, let’s define a business. Basically, it is where a person creates a system to exchange goods and/or services for money. Clearly there is a big difference between having just any old "business" and having …
