Kahlil Gibran, Chris Brogan, Nikki Buckelew and You: Rebels with a Cause

The Beauty of a Soulful, Real Estate Rebellion

Do you have a little rebel in ya? What about a Rebel Yell aching to scream forth?

It's funny how similar thoughts and philosophies can jump out at you in surprising succession. Last night, I read a portion of Kahlil Gibran's book “Spirits Rebellious” in which a character beseeches a village of peasants to rebel against the tyrants who have forced them into serfdom.

Then – only about 12 hours later – I received a weekly email newsletter from business relationship and Internet marketing guru Chris Brogan with the title “How Do …

The SoulFire of Nelson Mandela

Written on December 18, 2013 at 2:45 pm

nelson Mandela

Nelson Mandela had it.

He had SoulFire.

It's hard to imagine any global figure who better embodied the quality we know as "SoulFire."

You know that I talk and write about SoulFire agents and encourage you to grow this part of yourself that can zoom a real estate business to greater heights and your personal life to unimagined peace.

But the death of the man they call "Mandiba" in South Africa caused me to pause and revel in the SoulFire that he took to an entirely different level.

Think about this and really put yourself in his shoes.

South Africa …

Don’t Let Illusion Defeat You: Think SoulFire

Written on September 11, 2013 at 5:09 pm

The picture posted below is what inspired me to write on the topic of illusion.

I mean, look at that! It's an illusion of the highest order. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines illusion as “the state or fact of being intellectually deceived or misled.”

When I write about SoulFire, when I discuss SoulFire agents, when I coach on how to live a SoulFire life, what I'm talking about is the ability to cut through the illusion.

Your life is loaded with illusion and, in fact, much of what we perceive daily is just that. Each of us goes through …

Learning About Life and Real Estate from Taylor Swift and “The Voice.”

Written on June 10, 2013 at 1:41 pm

by Nikki Buckelew

I don't typically watch “The Voice” on NBC, the singing talent show that's all the rage. And I haven't spent a ton of time – until now - dissecting how the success of Taylor Swift can translate into success in real estate and life.

But a friend and colleague of mine - Mark Bingaman - recently brought up a couple of points concerning those two entertainment giants that made some sense.

On a recent episode of “The Voice,” one of the show's judges (and country superstar) Blake Shelton marveled at the talent of a 16 year-old contestant …

People with SoulFire Never Retire

Written on December 14, 2012 at 12:20 pm

When I say I will never retire people just look at me and laugh.

Why would you want to work forever, they ask? Well, I guess because I don't see work as a chore or something I dread. I see work as my "life's work" and not work for the sake of making a paycheck.

I call it SoulFire.

It is doing something that I love, with people I love, for people I love.

Of course not every day is glorious and easy. And I certainly am not wearing rose colored glasses. The fact is, it's about perpective. Each …

Age with Attitude!

Written on May 24, 2011 at 2:11 pm

Are you aging with attitude?

I can assure you that you are… the question is what attitude?

The dictionary defines attitude as: “A settled way of thinking or feeling about someone or something, typically one that is reflected in a person’s behavior.”

Based on this definition, the way you think and/or feel about age and the process of aging shows up in your behavior.

Ever heard the expression, “Act your age!” Of course you have … the question is how does one act their age?

You may also have heard the expression, “One is only as old as one feels.” …

Living to 120

Written on May 13, 2011 at 10:54 am

I participated on a coaching call yesterday that was about “energy management” facilitated by a fabulous holistic health coach, Leah Lund.

She pointed out something that really caught my attention and that is that our human physical bodies are designed to live to 120 years old. The reason it caught my attention is that 120 is my number!!! When asked a few years ago how long I thought I would live, I said “to 120.” Not sure why that number came out... it just did.

In January of this year I turned 40. This means that I have only completed …
