real estate coaches/consultants

I've pretty much decided that the fate of humankind rests solely on the timely dissemination of wisdom and quotes via the memes and images we all see daily on Facebook, Instagram, and across the Internet.

While that statement is somewhat tongue-in-cheek, there are many worthy concepts that are so easily summed up in just a few words and therefore the perfect length for just such an image.

So, you say you'd like to improve things in your life, either personally, professionally, or both?

What would happen if you simply focused on developing a plan (and following it)

3 Myths About Specializing

Written on June 24, 2013 at 11:57 am

by Nikki Buckelew

We all know that when you narrow your focus you increase your results. So why is it that so many agents resist specialization?

Myth #1:  I will lose other opportunities.

Reality: When you create a specialty, you elevate yourself and increase your overall credibility. Just as cardiac surgeons are still looked upon as capable general physicians, they are also seen as superior in their field. People understand that not only could they do a heart bypass, they can also put 4 stitches in your kid’s knee.

Not only will the people in your sphere see you in …

Do You Feel Like a Square Peg Trying to Fit Into a Round Hole?

Written on May 29, 2013 at 12:37 pm

by Nikki Buckelew

This weekend I was sitting with my one year-old granddaughter as she played with her toys. We have one in particular that she finds quite frustrating - it’s the one that requires you to match the correct shape with the corresponding hole in the box in order to push it through.

I love the toy myself because I know after she has tried the star block in every hole she eventually finds the star shaped hole and pushes it through. Of course we do this over and over again before she finally realizes that the square blocks …

2013 is the Year to Tap Into Your SoulFire

Written on December 30, 2012 at 10:38 am

I’m curious...

Do you wake up each day with fire in your belly?

Is your Monday morning full of energy and excitement about the week ahead?

Are you looking at 2013 with a sense of anticipation and passion?

I sure hope so. I want that for you SO much.

When I look in the rearview mirror I can see the many phases of my life including roles I’ve held, careers experimented with, and people I have worked alongside. It is easy to spot the times where I had SoulFire lighting me up and times when my spark had been …

Balancing Face Time with Facebook – My Personal Challenge

Written on July 2, 2012 at 12:46 pm

I don’t know about you, but I am finding it more and more challenging to “get out and see the people!” That is in fact how Ihave built every successful business I have owned.

It would be easy to say that there just isn’t enough time, but that would be a flat out lie. There is plenty of time. The fact of the matter (for me anyway) is that it is just easier (and cooler lately) to just hang out on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

I get sucked in. I admit it.

But is it as effective? Maybe it …

Too Many Hats? Time to Add a Team Member

Written on April 9, 2012 at 2:33 pm

How many hats can you wear in your real estate business until they are balanced so precariously on your head that they begin to topple uncontrollably toward the ground?

Not even a master real estate productivity coach can answer that question for you.

We will tell you from experience, however, that not only does every PERSON have a limit; so, too, the growth potential of every BUSINESS in any industry has a limit as well.

And that is truer than ever for real estate agents across the country who are trying to take their business and productivity to new levels.…

Airplanes Suck Your Brain

Written on February 14, 2012 at 12:14 pm

Several years ago at an event (and because it was several years ago I cannot remember which exact event) we had the privilege of hearing Mo Anderson, the Vice-Chair of the Board of Keller Williams Realty International, speak.

At the end of a long and content-rich conference, Momma Mo was insightful enough to know that we (REALTORS) often take both mental and written notes and then get back to our places of business and go right back to our old ways and habits. I am guessing this is true for people in other professions too, but I can’t speak for …

Using the 1-3-5 to Clarify Your Goals

Written on January 11, 2012 at 9:53 am

Do you over-complicate the goal setting and business planning process?

As coaches, we see two extremes when it comes to creating a plan for goal achievement.

1. No plan at all

2. A plan that is way too cumbersome and complex

Often those who do not create a plan or put anything in writing state that they just feel overwhelmed with the process. For the people who over-complicate it with multiple spreadsheets, charts, graphs, and hours of time on endless checklists and systems, it can become a distraction we refer to as "getting ready to get ready."

Either extreme can …
